This page contains online pension and group insurance benefit tools as part of the Compensation Web Applications suite of online products. You can use these tools to help you estimate the cost of buying back past pensionable service, the amount of your future pension entitlement and apply for group insurance coverage. These tools allow you to make more informed decisions concerning your pension and the financial decisions surrounding your retirement. As well, you can start, stop, amend or reinstate your Public Service Health Care Plan coverage.

New Secure Access

As part of our continuing effort to improve service delivery, secure access to the Compensation Web Applications (CWA) has been enhanced with a new Access Request page.

As of November 28th, 2011, you are required to enter your 9 digit Personal Record Identifier (PRI) when you log into CWA. This extra step of identity authentication will ensure continued security of your personal information.

Use this secure Web tool to help you manage your Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) coverage. This tool is based on the current paper application form.

Active Member Pension Applications - Personalized Tools

The new Active Member secure Pension Applications Portal offers a variety of new services and is the new pathway to the personalized pension tools:

Secure Messaging

  • The Secure Messages function enables you to access messages received in your secure mailbox.

Web Inquiry

  • The Web Inquiry function enables you to send service requests and inquiries to a Pension Expert at the Public Service Pension Centre in a secure manner.

The Pension and Insurance Benefits Statement provides you with information on the following:

  • Current pension benefits and survivor benefits;
  • Coverage under your group benefit plans, including your health and dental care plans; and
  • The option to go paperless for your annual statement.

The Pension Calculator allows you to do the following:

  • Estimate the value of your pension benefit options (immediate annuity, annual allowance, deferred annuity)
  • Estimate the Transfer Value of your Pension (see the Limitations);
  • Determine the impact of buying back previous service on your pension entitlement;
  • Adjust your pension benefits if there has been a pension division after a divorce or separation; and
  • Calculate your net pension based on information you've entered.

The Service Buyback Estimator allows you to do the following:

  • Estimate the cost of buying back previous service, up to three periods,
  • Estimate the resulting increase to your pension; and
  • Estimate the repayment period for the service buyback.

Basic Tools

The Pension Calculator and the Service Buyback Estimator are now only available from the secured Personalized Tools within the Active Member Pension Applications. Calculations and Estimates are processed using your personal information in a secured manner. If your department or organization does not have access to the secure personalized tools, please contact the Public Service Pension Centre, where they would be pleased to provide you with the estimate you are looking for.
